Rachel Reynders, MSW, LCSW, IECMH-E

I believe strongly that healing happens in the context of relationships and strive to create a safe therapeutic space for my clients to learn and grow towards their potential.

I am a Clinical Social Worker with 5 years of experience working with children, families, and adults with a variety of needs. I center my work around collaboration, identifying and pursuing goals that are person-centered and reflect the priorities and needs of those I serve.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, a Master of Social Work and am currently finishing my PhD in social welfare studying attachment, early relationships and ways to enhance the parental reflectivity. I am trained in Infant Mental Health and social work which means I prioritize understanding problems within context, looking at client’s inherent strengths, relationships and supports to frame treatment around the client.

I specialize in working with trauma and loss, adoption, parenting challenges, relational stress, anxiety, and depression using evidence-based treatment models that align with what clients need. I have specialized training to provide Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and pair these treatment modalities with a range of techniques from play therapy, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to achieve the goal of meeting clients where they are at.

In my work with children and families I am passionate about incorporating parents into treatment and believe strongly that healing happens best within the context of relationships. I view play as an essential part of treating children and provide a supportive and safe environment that allows them the opportunity to express and process challenging emotions. When working with adults I strive to create a non-judgmental space where clients can explore and express hard thoughts and feelings working towards social, relational and emotional wellbeing.
