Our Approach
Here at Kind Therapy, we are committed to creating a safe atmosphere for our clients and employees.
Kind Therapy aims to help adults, children, couples, and families achieve their goals and true potential for growth and authenticity.
We will challenge you to understand yourself, learn new strategies, and change patterns that are getting in your way.
At Kind Therapy, we offer an integrated approach using evidenced-based and systemic therapeutic techniques to help you achieve emotional growth and connection within your relationships.
You can expect our work together to be goal-directed and individualized to your needs. We will provide an atmosphere of acceptance, warmth, and genuineness. You provide yourself and motivation to create change.

We are committed to reducing stigma around mental health needs, and we work with all clients from a strengths-based and humanistic approach.
We are LGBTQIA+ affirmative and sex positive.

We commit to providing a safe therapy space for all. Our therapists strive to approach all of our interactions with cultural humility, and we are deeply committed to continually examining our own privilege and racial bias.
We are listening, we are paying attention, and we hear you. We stand firmly against all forms of discrimination, including racism, homophobia, transphobia, and reproductive injustice.
We are actively doing the work—through antiracism training, community engagement, and personal and professional development—to understand how systemic oppression affects the individuals and communities we serve.
Our goal is to create a therapy environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and safe.
Some of our recent team efforts to support ongoing learning, reflection, and growth include:
- Participating in anti-bias and historical trauma training facilitated by a local expert.
- Completing a year-long, practice-wide learning and consultation initiative to deepen our understanding of how to support individuals and communities who have been historically marginalized.
- Engaging in implicit bias assessments, with our therapists actively reflecting on how their own experiences and perspectives influence their work.
- Launching an internal book club focused on exploring topics related to racism, systemic bias, and the experiences of marginalized communities.

We acknowledge that Kind Therapy operates on the ancestral lands of the Ho-Chunk Nation. We honor the rich history, culture, and traditions of the Ho-Chunk people and recognize their enduring connection to this land. We commit to fostering awareness and respect for Indigenous communities and their contributions, both past and present
Additionally, we value evidenced-based, trauma-informed care. Our team is trained in trauma-specific interventions including EMDR, CPP, TFCBT, and Brainspotting.
